We are employing Maintenance Officers to complete general maintenance tasks including general property repairs, preventative maintenance checks and grounds works for our Residential Aged Care and Retirement Living Clients.

Job Summary

The maintenance officer position is an integral role in supporting the facility or village by providing outstanding operational, safety, and preventative maintenance services. This role ensures the physical environment remains safe, functional, and welcoming for all residents, staff, and visitors.

• Casual 
• 2 days (15hrs) 3 days (22.5hrs) or 5 days (37.5hrs) per week available.
• Pay rate/hour $36.09 - $37.93 + Superannuation. 

Primary Duties:

General Repairs & Maintenance 

• General Repairs and tasks: Performing routine handyman jobs, such as replacing or repairing fixtures and hardware, patching and painting, and furniture assembling or moving furniture, hanging frames, unclogging drains, fixing minor leaks, and replacing non-wired in lightbulbs or downlights.
• Preventative Maintenance: completing scheduled inspections of the property, tools and equipment to identify issues early and prevent major breakdowns ensuring safe operation.

Safety & Compliance 

• Safety Checks: Regular checks of essential safety features such as fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, emergency exits, and exit lighting.
• Hazard identification: Promptly report and resolving hazards, unsafe fixtures or damage.

 Grounds Tasks such as mowing lawns, weeding existing gardens, blowing and/or pressuring cleaning debris from driveways/hard surfaces, removing cobwebs to keep the village or facility looking pristine. 

Contractor Management ensuring external tradespeople (e.g., technicians or electricians etc) who are engaged by the facility for major or specialised work meet compliance standards. 

Selection Criteria:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Trade Certificate (Preferred not essential) 
• Knowledge of WHS requirements
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Reliable transport and a licence
• Be able to provide or willingness to undergo, a NDISWC or National Criminal History Check
